Analytics privacy
Publication analytics and privacy¶
This publication uses AWS Amplify hosting access logs to understand requests for research pages and documents, including identifiable crawler services. If browser analytics is enabled, Amazon CloudWatch RUM also measures page access and selections of research documents, internal reading links, and approved external links. A document selection does not establish successful delivery or reading.
Browser measurements contain only approved page and document identifiers, the publication edition, and referral or external host names. Search phrases, URL queries and fragments, form contents, clipboard contents and session recordings are excluded. Analytics creates no persistent cookies, visitor identifier or browser-storage entry. Temporary AWS authorization and an ephemeral document-session identifier exist only in memory. AWS receives the network information necessary to deliver its services and enriches private RUM records with approximate geographic information. This geographic information is excluded from the publication’s retained aggregates.
Browser collection respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. It can be blocked using browser privacy controls without preventing reading or downloads. Ordinary hosting access logs remain subject to AWS hosting operation and best-effort delivery; their availability does not establish an individual's identity or a model's review.
The private analytics store retains hosting exports and detailed events for 30 days and aggregate counts for 12 months. AWS Amplify separately retains its original access logs while the hosting app exists. Administration and retained analytics are private. Contact Andrew Durden for privacy inquiries.
